Even after a decade in fitness and working at just about every gym in town (Orangetheory, Regymen, you name it), watching someone crush their first unassisted pull-up still makes my day. Two years at HIT, and whether I’m leading HIT Express or Pure Strength, that feeling of seeing someone surprise themselves never gets old.

My home base? Strength and Conditioning on the Turf. You can always count on a killer lift and a serious calorie burn every time. Between coaching high school athletes at Better U Performance and now here at HIT, I’ve learned that the best workouts blend intensity with results.

What can you expect in my class? Someone who’s genuinely stoked about watching you hit new personal records, creative combinations that keep you guessing, and workouts that’ll make all that hard work worth it. Come meet me on the Turf, and let’s get to work!

Kathryn Morgan

Chicago, Denver, and now Austin—twelve years of coaching have taken me across the country, working with athletes from age 8 to 88. Since joining HIT in May 2023, I’ve brought that depth of experience to every Strength and Conditioning, Pure Strength, and HIT Express class I lead.

Strength and Conditioning is my favorite class to teach—it’s the perfect blend of strength training and functional movement. In every session, you can expect core activation, balance work, and an amazing playlist to keep you motivated. We’re not just working out—we’re building strength that translates to real life.

My approach goes beyond traditional fitness. Whether you’re managing shoulder tension, rebuilding strength post-baby, or recovering from an injury, I specialize in creating programs that adapt to your body’s needs. Core stability, posture alignment, mobility work—these aren’t just fitness buzzwords. They’re the building blocks of a stronger, more capable you. Think of my classes as an investment in your daily life, where every movement pattern we perfect in the gym makes everything outside these walls feel a little bit easier

Gerry mantaring

Give me some kettlebells, an open turf, and music, and I’ll show you that strength training can actually be the highlight of your day. Three years at HIT and six years coaching across Austin have taught me that fitness is better when it feels like a celebration. From kettlebell flows to challenging calisthenics combinations, my strength and conditioning classes are where weightlifting meets dynamic movement, and where structure meets spontaneity. Think organized chaos in the best possible way—every exercise has its purpose, but we’re definitely bringing the energy while we pursue it. If you’ve ever wondered what happens when you combine core strength, balance work, and mobility training with a lively, party-like atmosphere, my classes are your answer. My mission? Helping you become a stronger, more well-rounded athlete while actually enjoying the process.

Kristopher Peterson

Five years of fitness training built on thirteen years of military service taught me one crucial lesson: strength isn’t just about what you can lift—its about how well you can move. Being nominated as one of Austin’s top trainers in 2024 only reinforced my commitment to this philosophy.

You’ll find me leading HIIT Express and Pure Strength classes, where we focus on mastering movement patterns that build real-world strength. My approach blends high-intensity challenges with careful attention to form, creating workouts that areas effective as they are engaging.

Every session is designed with a clear purpose: helping you move better, feel stronger, and stay injury-free. No random exercises or unnecessary complexity—just intelligent training that delivers lasting results.

Ready to train with purpose? Let’s work together tor each your goals!

When 2020’s challenges turned living rooms into gyms, I discovered my calling—creating a fitness app and sustainable wellness program to help people break free from the unhealthy habits many of us developed during lockdown. What started as empowering others through daily movement, mindfulness, and nutrition has evolved into leading transformative, in-person experiences at HIT.

HIIT is where I truly shine—I love its fast-paced intensity and the way it blends strength, endurance, and cardio into one powerful session. It’s incredibly rewarding to see participants push their limits and achieve their best. Nothing beats that energy!

My coaching style fosters a welcoming, supportive atmosphere where everyone feels seen and heard, no matter their fitness level. I’m passionate about creating a space where individuals feel valued and empowered throughout their fitness journey. You’ll get clear, focused instruction and high energy that keeps you motivated and pushing until the very last second. I specialize in leading dynamic, high-energy workouts that combine strength, cardio, and endurance, designed to be accessible to all fitness levels. My goal is to help you improve overall fitness, build confidence, and stay consistent on your fitness journey.

I’ve been with HIT since we first opened our doors—an original member of the crew with the battle scars to prove it. These days, you’ll find me leading Strength Con, where we combine challenging strength work with high-energy conditioning to help you discover what you’re truly capable of. My path to fitness wasn’t exactly traditional. I believe in learning through experience, and while I may not have followed the conventional route, I bring intensity and genuine passion to every single session.

Strength Con is where I truly come alive—it’s where we find that sweet spot between pushing limits and breaking through mental barriers. My coaching style blends focused instruction with just enough dry humor to get you through those challenging sets. Expect clear guidance, strategic programming, and yes, maybe a few well-timed quips to distract you from that last rep. Sunday mornings are my time to shine, and I’ve mastered the art of making early workouts worth leaving your bed for. Get ready to dig deep, surprise yourself, and leave feeling accomplished (even if you’re questioning my sanity during the session).

“I’m a certified strength and conditioning coach (CSCS) with experience coaching athletes across a variety of sports and ages. I previously worked at the NCAA Division II level, where I designed and coached strength and conditioning programs for women’s soccer and softball, and assisted with football, working primarily with offensive and defensive linemen. In addition to my time in the weight room, I’ve spent a lot of time coaching on-field speed and agility work for both football and softball athletes.

While in college, I also had the opportunity to work alongside Baylor University’s Acrobatics & Tumbling team, learning from experienced coaches and gaining valuable insight into how NCAA programs operate — including rules, regulations, and athlete development.

Now that I’m based in Austin, I work primarily with high school football athletes but enjoy coaching athletes of all ages — from elementary to middle school to high school — across all sports. I also work with adults who are returning to activity after injury or surgery, preparing for competitions, or simply looking to train safely, build strength, and prevent injury.

My approach is always individualized, helping every athlete develop a strong foundation that supports both performance and long-term health.”

What started as clipping into a HIT bike as a member turned into leading the pack just one year later. Now I’m your go-to morning motivation, guiding Rhythm Cycle at sunrise (6 AM Tuesdays and Thursdays) and 9 AM Sundays. My favorite class to teach? Throwback Thursday rides, hands down—there’s nothing like riding to some nostalgic tunes! Each session becomes a story, told through beats that make even the toughest climbs feel conquerable. Being trained right here at HIT taught me that a great class needs more than just good music—it needs that high-energy, positive atmosphere I loved as a member. In my classes, you can expect plenty of encouragement to push through and have fun every step of the way.

I’ve been an athlete my entire life, competing at the Division I level in college tennis for all four years—playing both singles and doubles. With over a decade of coaching experience, I’ve worked with youth and adult tennis players, always focusing on helping others find strength, resilience, and joy through movement.

After years of pushing my limits with strength training, running, and HIIT workouts, an injury led me to try rhythm cycling—and I instantly fell in love. What started as a recovery option became a powerful new passion. Riding to music has supported my nervous system again and again, and now I’m dedicated to sharing that experience with every person who joins my class.

My coaching style is rooted in support, challenge, and connection. Whether it’s your first ride or your 500th, I aim to create a space where you feel seen, heard, and empowered. I believe that working hard and showing up for yourself is not just good for your body—it’s good for your soul.

When it comes to music, I keep it eclectic and electric—think pop with a drop, EDM, hip hop, indie gems, and old-school remixes. My goal is to bring high energy, boost your endorphins, and give you a positive outlet for your emotions and energy.

Meet Kendall – your spin class hype girl and OG Austinite (born and raised)! A lifelong fitness enthusiast, Kendall fell in love with spin back in high school and started teaching spin in 2024 after years of riding bikes that go no where. As a Doctor of Physical Therapy, she’ll make sure you ride strong and safe – while blasting pop, hip hop, EDM, rap, and even a little country (when she can sneak it in). When she’s not coaching spin, you can catch Kendall in HIT’s turf classes. Outside of the gym, Kendall enjoys live music, being outdoors, spending time with family and friends, traveling as much as she can, and hanging with her Frenchie, Bentley. Come for the beats, stay for the vibes!

I went into a boxing class trying to get in shape and immediately fell in love after the first punch. After spending 5 years as a member, I decided that I wanted to take it a step further and become a fitness instructor. I started learning everything I could about the body, became a certified personal trainer, and then signed up to fight competitively to learn more about the sport. I loved being in the gym and helping anyone and everyone on their fitness journey and quit my desk job in a dental office to become a coach full time. It was the best decision I’ve ever made!

While my classes are extremely high energy and at times very challenging, I try to provide an environment to learn something and push yourself without judgement. Everyone starts somewhere, and my mission as a coach is to help you improve in any way that I can. My goal for all of my clients is a little bit better every day!

Bryn Starbird

Six months into coaching at HIT, and I still get a rush every time I wrap my hands for class. After four years of training across Austin’s boxing scene, I found my home here—where members can complement their ring work with strength training, cardio, and everything in between.

My goal? To make the hour you’re in my class the best hour of your day. Every session combines intense exercise, some guaranteed laughs, and a sense of community that makes even the toughest combinations feel conquerable. There’s nothing I love more than helping beginners fall in love with this awesome sport. These aren’t just workouts— they’re the most empowering hours you’ll spend all day, and yes, you might catch me grinning just as much as the newcomers. Whether you’re here to de-stress, build confidence, or just try something new, I’m here to help you discover why boxing and kickboxing became my passion. Trust me—once you feel the rush of nailing that first combination, you’ll be hooked too.

David Garza

There’s nothing quite like the perfect beat drop in a cycling class, the satisfying thud of a kickboxing combination, or the triumphant clang of a personal record lift. After eighteen years teaching every format from rhythm cycling to strength training (and being named one of Austin Fit Magazine’s 2024 Fitness Ambassadors along the way), I’ve mastered the art of turning workouts into experiences. Mix a DJ’s ear for rhythm with an endurance athlete’s stamina, and you’ll get a sense of my teaching style. Every session is crafted to make you forget you’re working out—until you realize you’ve just crushed a personal record. While you’re pushing through that last set, I’m probably planning my next Ironman training session. Because fitness isn’t just what I teach—it’s how I live. My goal? Helping you discover that same passion for pushing your limits, one breakthrough at a time.

My approach to yoga is simple: finding harmony between effort and ease. From energetic Vinyasa flows to gentle Recovery and Prenatal sessions, each class creates space for you to truly listen to your body’s wisdom in the present moment. I integrate intuitive movement to craft dynamic, ever-evolving yoga flows that offer a unique experience with each session. Every class weaves together fluid sequences with moments of stillness, encouraging you to honor exactly what your body needs today. As we transition out of savasana, the soothing sounds of a sound bowl help ease you back into the world, renewed.

When I’m not guiding yoga journeys, you’ll find me leading diverse classes on the turf or seeking inspiration in nature’s most awe-inspiring places. My love for mountain adventures and wild spaces infuses every class with that same sense of exploration and discovery. Whether you’re here to move, to breathe, or simply to find a moment of peace, my classes offer a sanctuary where you can cultivate that perfect balance between challenge and restoration.

Lauren Greer

Since joining HIT in August 2024, I’ve been bringing the power of breath and movement to our yoga community. My journey through various studios and spaces—from intimate yin practices to dynamic climbing gym sessions—has shaped how I approach each class today. Power Yoga and Vinyasa flow are my heart and soul. I take care in curating each class and playlist so you can simply show up and flow. No need to think or plan—your practice unfolds naturally from there.

My classes are more than just a workout; they’re an invitation to connect deeper with yourself. Whether you’re flowing through a challenging sequence or finding stillness in a pose, every moment is an opportunity to tune into your body and quiet the outside noise. Expect to leave feeling more grounded, more connected, and more in tune with yourself. After all, the real power of yoga isn’t just in the movement—it’s in how it transforms your entire day

Jessica Stephens

Yoga found me at just the right time in my life. My journey into yoga began in 2007 after many years of resistance, and I jumped into teacher training just two years later, when a teacher accidentally included me in a teacher training email. It all felt serendipitous. I was a few years post-recovery from knee surgery, and after lots of physical therapy, I never thought I would regain full range of motion, when I surprised myself after many Yin classes, fully bending my knee, lying back into saddle pose. I started teaching in 2010 after a 200 hour teacher training at Yoga Yoga in Austin,Texas. I’ve since completed 500+ hours of training, including Yin and Prenatal Certifications, and I am certified by the Yoga Alliance. I additionally completed training as a Sound Therapist in 2017 and began incorporating singing bowls into some of my classes.

Yoga has been an adventure that began with rigorous heated Vinyasa practices and moved toward slower stretchy Yin classes. I’ve explored and taught many styles in between the two extremes. While I love a juicy power Vinyasa class, I also love surprising my students with a challenging Slow Flow. I connect foundational poses in a fluid sequence, sneaking in core strengthening work that helps with full body alignment. You might also experience the pleasure of Yin poses added at the beginning and end of class. My training included trauma informed yoga, so my classes incorporate work with the nervous system, in addition to functional movement to help prevent injury.

Yoga has helped me learn to love the experience I have in my body, even as I age, and I share with students how the shifts we have within our bodies shift the world around us. The work we do within can empower us to make the world a better place.

When I’m off the mat, I love hiking, any activity by the water, listening to live music, and gathering in community with my family and friends.
